Languages to add Empty Languages to add

Post  Jazzerath Thu Feb 18, 2010 12:55 am

I also vote for Croatian, but I realize that cannot depend on musty as he hardly can say hello in Croatian so I would like to see more Croatian people involved... there's a more then a year since the Android is on the market and there is no even a simple functional (Croatian) dictionary to add, and keyboards includes all kind of things but to find really good with our special characters build in is very hard or impossible. I had that all and much more in SE or Nokia years ago...

And here the whole Android community (not only Galaxy users) is struggling for an working BT file transfer, WiFi tethering and many more simple things which suppose to be solved from the beginning.

I expected more from the something so 'open' as Android... Crying or Very sad

Hoho.. I understand the joke (if it is) but Galaxy is present on the Croatian market from the beginning (early Summer '09), and there is quite the number of these (I'm sure it's more than 3 Wink ) on the streets...

I have noticed that Android supports more and more languages (personally I tried Android port for EEE PC and it supposed Greek on it). What is the progress on adding a language on Android? I would love to see Greek language support (doesn't even support Greek keyboard)...

It's not a problem to add any language you would want, just edit some config file and compile the sources. The problem is that build can be too big to fit system partition with gapps. It can be workarounded by deleting some other stuff but there's always something you will miss. I suppose musty could delete tts languages like drakaz did and add some more locales in that place - and it would be nice to have Polish here btw.

It seems my post wasn't clear. There's NO NEED to translate, everything is in place, just it would be too big with all languages. It could be done very easily and I believe it will be done later.

I know it's a little bit early, but is that possible to enclose Chinese support for your cookings? as you may
noticed Nexus had put Chinese support already(except input), so I hope this could be not a big request for you.
If you need me to have any information or input software we are using, please feel free to let me know,
awaiting for your reply, thanks and best regard,

singrun
